The Juicing Benefits of Fruits

The wonderful health benefits of juicing fruits have been taken advantage of by commercial industries that make processed fruit juices that are a mere shadow of freshly pressed juice. In fact some of the commercial juices are so heavily processed and concentrated with added sugar, preservatives and other chemicals that they may actually do you more harm than good. What I find very interesting is that every time I have ever consumed a glass of processed orange juice purchased at the supermarket I always ended up with acid reflux but when I drink a glass of freshly pressed orange juice I experience no ill effects! The bottom line is that many commercial fruit juice are a negligible health product in comparison. So what are some of the amazing juicing benefits of fruits?

Juicing for Vitamin C
Regardless of which fruits we juice and in what combination’s they are in we can be guaranteed we are providing ourselves with juicing recipes for vitamin C. All fruits are a good source of vitamin C and some fruits, such as kiwis, oranges, blackberries and pineapples, are excellent sources of vitamin C. Vitamin C is needed for over 300 presently known essential functions in the body such as creating collagen to keep our skin healthy, protecting our arteries from oxidative damage that can lead to heart disease and creating antibodies that boost our immune systems and protect us from viral infections like colds and flu.

Digestive Enzymes and Detox
Raw fruits and fruit juices are a source of digestive enzymes that actually help us to digest the fruits. This makes raw fruits, and especially fresh raw fruit juices very easy on the digestive system. Fruit juice is even better because it doesn’t contain the tough fibers of whole fruits and effectively needs zero digesting. This frees up the energy of our bodily systems and especially the liver for detoxifying purposes and not for the burden of digestion.

Pineapples and papayas are two fruits that contain especially potent digestive enzymes that breakdown proteins into amino acids and for this reason these enzymes are used in digestive supplements and meat tenderizing products.
